Tutorials and club meeting

Monday - Tuesday, November 18-19

  1. Students should complete a TRF first. 
  2. When their TRF is complete (they know what this is), then give them the Race Relations handout.
  3. For the handout, they should answer all the questions on their own piece of paper.  They can write the reflection on the back. 
  4. 2 questions for each level of inquiry on the topics from the handout.
  5. If they finish, AVID time – Students should use the time to planner, binder, homework, note, to do list, etc.  This is not free time.

5.      Which careers were the most interesting to you at first glance? (list at least 3)
6.      Of the careers you explored:
a.      Which had the highest wages and what were they?
b.      Which had the highest growth rate?  What was that rate?
c.       What did you notice about the education needed?

Thursday I was out sick, but all AVID students should have completed their tutorials and turned in all TRF papers.

Friday:

11th:  Continued public speaking assignment, presenting a set of academic Cornell Notes to their classmates.
10th:  Acted out (charades style) their vocabulary words.  Test will be given next week.
9th:  Recreated the rubric for a life goals essay, which will be written in class.

1.   Make a quadrant chart that includes:  Behavior, Social, Academic, and Pyschological.  For each quadrant, list 5 goals that you are working towards.  Then choose one major goal from each quadrant.  On a new paper, fill out a GPA chart for each of the goals you have chosen.

P-  What is your plan?
A – 6 actions that will get you there
Example:
G – I will have more parent contact this year.
P – I will contact parents through phone, email, and skyward.

3.Flag or compile papers that need to be turned in or completed.
4.Check off tasks completed on your previous planner/agenda
5.Make a list of all items that must be finished in the next 24 hours.  Include small steps that might build up to a large assignment.
6.Prioritize the list.
