Monday - Tuesday, October 7-8

AVID (1st) 

  1. ACT writing prompt.  30 minutes to respond 
  2. AVID time – Students should use the time to planner, binder, homework, note, to do list, etc.  This is not free time. 
AVID (5th)

1.  
žWrite four sentences using the word MUSE correctly.  It is a verb, so you can use:
¡MUSE, MUSING, MUSED, HAVE MUSED, HAVE BEEN MUSING
žIt is a verb, so you can’t use
¡MUSER (that’s a noun)
žYou will read one of the sentences aloud to the class.  The sentence you read must be true about you. 
žWhen you finish, planner, binder, notes, homework, TO DO LIST, Skyward, TRF

ž  Continue working on the Vocab from yesterday.

ž  Write four sentences using each of the following words correctly:

¡  Meticulous – (adj) MUST DESCRIBE A PERSON
¡  Urbane – (adj)  MUST DESCRIBE A PERSON
¡  Sagacity – (n) IS A QUALITY THAT YOU HAVE
¡  Edify – (v) MUST BE USED AS AN ACTION

AVID (7th period)


1.   Make a quadrant chart that includes:  Behavior, Social, Academic, and Pyschological.  For each quadrant, list 5 goals that you are working towards.  Then choose one major goal from each quadrant.  On a new paper, fill out a GPA chart for each of the goals you have chosen. 
G – What is your goal?
P-  What is your plan?
A – 6 actions that will get you there
Example:
G – I will have more parent contact this year.
P – I will contact parents through phone, email, and skyward. 
A – 1. Collect parent contact information  2. Remind101 texting  3.  Send messages through Skyward once a week  4.  Send postcards of Praise  5. Call parents at least once a week  6. Distribute website information through Skyward.


2.  Finish your goals from yesterday, then AVID time – Students should use the time to planner, binder, homework, note, to do list, etc.  This is not free time.  TRF IS DUE TOMORROW!
